Gorgeous photos from a simple keyword search

You need a nice photo or image for a project of some sort? You will want to read this.

Tonight I was browsing the Web looking for cool photos to mash together for my blog design, when suddenly I came upon this awesome search tool that looks for pictures on Flickr.

In case you don’t know, Flickr is a site where people can store and share their digital images online. People ‘tag’ these images to help categorize them. A picture of a BMW might have tags like ‘BMW’, ‘car’, ‘cool’, ‘auto’, and the like.

You can go to the Flickr website and search for images by tag names. But there is a site that does this even quicker and better.

AirTight Interactive has developed a program that searches Flickr tags and quickly returns you thumbnail-sized results. Click on any thumbnail and you get the picture.

There’s more: when you search, the program gives you a list of related keywords. So if you search for BMW, it gives you cars, Porsche, Germany, race, M3, and other things related to BMWs. Just click and it does the search all over again.

Try it out and tell me what you think! (I’m gonna go nuts with this thing…)
