About God, spirituality, and belief
Do good, honest people who don’t come to God through Jesus really go to hell? Is jihad a good or a bad thing? Did humans evolve from dust, apes, or anything else? As we get more technologically advanced, these questions are more and more taking center stage, rather than becoming less relevant as some would think.
Why? Because no matter how much we humans mechanize and automate things, we fundamentally need spiritual development and intimacy in our life. Some people feel this need more than others, some feel it less. But all the money and technology in the world means nothing if we have nothing to apply it to and nobody to share it with.
In my own life, I consider it one of my shortcomings that I am not more spiritually “hooked up.” This is becoming a more common trait among the young today. We get wound up in mechanical pursuits and then something like the picture displayed here shows up in our lives and reminds us of how much we’re missing.
Though I do not feel an allegiance to any one faith, I am convinced of the existence of a spiritual dimension and a greater force whose characteristics we may never know all about. I am a believer in the existence of God, and I will in the near future write a series of posts on my beliefs. After all, the future of our world has everything to do with the beliefs and values we hold. I’ll start with myself.
